Looking for dance classes to help
improve skating skills?

“Every movement has a proper origin within the body. To be successful each of these origins need to be understood and felt. For example: From where on your body does “turn-out” originate?  What are the primary muscles used in a jump take-off and how does that effect the landing?  Every body part affects the whole, and even “isolated” movements require control in the rest of the body. Proper body alignment and awareness of these “origins” affects every aspect of one’s skating: jumps; spins; footwork and artistic expression.  Applying these principles consistently will unify and enhance every part of your skating.”(1) During a technical ballet class all of these aspects are taught, understood, and repeated in each warm-up so proper placement can be mastered. The skills developed during a simple, proper, ballet warm up are carried on in your physical presence for years to come. From 10 years of figure skating experience when she was younger with The Falmouth Figure Skating Club, the owner of New England Ballet Theatre is aware of requirements to attain the skills and grace necessary to achieve beauty on the ice.  Therefore New England Ballet Theatre is excited to offer classes for children and adults who would like to strengthen their skills in all of the above areas. Through commitment, discipline, and of course a wonderful time we can produce the highest quality skater and dancer with an unequaled standard of excellence.
